Visa Requirements

Most visitors are not required to have a visa prior to coming to Egypt, and those that do can obtain it at the country's ports of entry. Also, for some nationalities, a passport is not needed, for example, EU visitors can enter Egypt with their ID cards. However, please check with the Egyptian embassy or consulate in your country.
It is required for visitors who need visas to decide what type of visa they need; as there are many types of Egyptian visas .
Tourist Visa:
This visa is valid for a period of not more than three months, and is granted on either a single or a multiple entry basis.
Entry Visa:
This type of visa is required by visitors whose purpose of arriving in Egypt is anything other than tourism, (i.e. work, study, etc.) It should be a valid type of visa to complete the residence procedure in Egypt.
Transit:
A visa for those who are only staying in transit in Egyptian Airports.
