Changing Money

Major Currencies can be changed nearly everywhere. Banks and ATM's can be found almost everywhere in Egypt, in all cities as in most top end hotels. However, we do not recommend that you rely exclusively on ATM machines, as these can often be out of order. Credit cards are accepted in most shops, restaurants and hotels (with the exception of American Express cards which are not widely accepted). Please note that most hotel and service contracts are given travel agents and tour operators in US$ or Euro and then payment must normally be in same currency.We recommend that you take either Euro, US$ or GB£ currency and travellers cheques.
